Wayne Impullitti, owner and president of Impullitti Landscaping, Inc., grew up in the landscaping business. His maternal grandfather operated a well-known landscaping company, Leo Lucarelli and Sons Landscaping, specializing in Cleveland’s east-side estate residences.
More than a half century ago, in 1952, Impullitti and Sons Landscaping was started by Wayne’s father and mentor, Clifford Impullitti, Sr. Wayne experienced plenty of “digging and planting” under the tutelage of his father during his growing up years. Wayne Impullitti graduated from The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) in 1984.
In 1990, Wayne assumed sole ownership of the company and changed the name to Impullitti Landscaping, Inc. Although he no longer has time for “digging and planting,” Wayne’s knowledge of the business runs deep and is exhibited in his creation of a premier company. Wayne’s ability to select dedicated and extremely professional employees and to develop lasting relationship with customers and suppliers has been instrumental in the company being recognized as one of the state’s top landscaping companies. Currently, Wayne serves on the advisory committee for nursery management at the Ohio State University.
Proud father, Cliff, Sr., says, “I started the Impullitti business, but Wayne does more in one month than I was able to do in a year. I am very proud him!”
The company has grown steadily under his leadership. Indicative of the success of Impullitti Landscaping is the long list of awards received by the company in state and national competitions. Notable awards include the company’s addition to the Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50 List, winning the Massachusetts Horticultural Society Gold Medal—one of only eight awards given nationally—on two separate occasions at the Cleveland Botanical Garden Center and more than 50 other awards from state landscaping associations and horticultural experts from around the country.
